Getting A Butt Tattoo – What’s It Really Like?

Happy Sunday all! It’s been an okay week here in Bristol with the sun finally showing it’s face ever so slightly and the blue skies peeking through every now and again. Spring, is that you? I bloody hope so because I can’t cope with anymore cold!

I decided to write this post after I joked around with a friend and said I’d blog about it and they said that it was actually a really good idea. I’ve also received quite a few messages asking questions on social media so I thought I may as well write about my experience of getting my bum well and truly inked a few months ago. n

So firstly, why did I decide to have it done?

Well, it’s quite simple really. A bum tattoo is something that I’ve wanted for as long as I’ve been interested in tattoos. Much like all of my other tattoos, it’s easily coverable so more often than not, it’s impossible to know I have any tattoos (dependant on what I wear of course) but this one will be covered at all times unless I’m on the beach in a bikini!

Why did I pick the design I have?

I went for a black and white, dot work floral design to match the tattoo that I already have on the same side on my arm. I love floral tattoos as they’re feminine, pretty and can have tonnes of detail too.

Just Finished

How long did it take?

I was in the chair (technically led on the bed) for a whopping 8 hours and 45 minutes and did so in one sitting. Out of all my tattoos, this one took the longest but was well worth it.

How was the pain?

I feel like so many people tell fibs with this question but I’ll always be 100% honest when people ask this. It’s the question I asked others beforehand the most so in my opinion, honesty is definitely the best policy. It was absolute agony. Undoubtedly, the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced in my whole 22 years of life but I’m so glad I saw it through.

The worst pain was towards the final 3 hours when the needle was going over skin that was already tattooed and really damn angry. During these hours I swore a hell of a lot.

Best coping methods?

Sugar and carbs will be your best friend. I was right at the start of my no-carb diet but had no choice but to give in and eat something carby for lunch. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t have been able to sit through the whole almost 9 hours. I also made my way through several bags of sweets and bottles of Pepsi during the day.

How was the healing?

I’m quite lucky in the sense that I heal pretty quickly when it comes to tattoos and piercings. However, it’s SO important that you follow your tattooists instructions for aftercare and look after your tattoo properly during the healing process.

Keep it well moisturised at all times. Your tattooist will recommend the best product for this so don’t just use any old thing! Many products can damage the tattoo and cause infections so listen to recommendations from your artist carefully. I always use The Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E which you can find here.  It’s super hydrating, easy to use and is paraben free.

It WILL become itchy whilst it’s healing but whatever you do, DON’T give in to the urge to scratch it. By doing this, you will damage the tattoo and pull off the ‘scabbing process’ which will cause not only loss of colour/ink but also create a risk of infection. If it’s itchy, it’s not moisturised enough so add more cream as soon as possible.

As I said before, follow the instructions from your artist religiously and you’ll be absolutely fine. This particular tattoo took just under 2 weeks to fully heal.

Almost Fully Healed

Who was my tattooist?

For all dot work designs, I always go to the same artist. Terr Whitfield who I’ve known for years has done 3 out of 4 of my tattoos and I wouldn’t go to anyone else for any dot work. He’s based in Surrealistic Sanctuary, an incredible studio in Cardiff. You can find the studios Facebook page here.

Just Started

That’s all I have to tell you about the process of having your butt tattooed so I hope this post has been helpful to anybody who had any queries! As always, feel free to leave any questions in the comments section if there’s anything you need to know that I haven’t answered already.

Thank you so much for reading!

New In The Beauty Collection – April

How are we halfway through the month already?! Surely I’m not the only one that thinks April is flying by. I swear before we know it, it’ll be Christmas again already!

Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation – £31.00

Ordinarily if I look at a foundation and it says ‘oil-free’ and ‘shine control’ I wouldn’t buy it due to my skin being horrendously dehydrated. However, I tried this foundation before adding it into my collection and surprisingly really loved it.

It’s full coverage but still has a lightweight texture and consistency to it. With a soft matte texture it doesn’t emphasise dry patches and airbrushes the skin beautifully.

Smashbox Blurring Concealer Brush – £20.00

I’ve had my eye on this brush as soon as Smashbox released it so I’m over the moon that it’s finally part of my little brush family.

I’ve always used sponges for concealer but after feeling how unbelievably soft and fluffy this brush is, I knew I needed it for buffing out my beloved Tarte Shape Tape.

NYX Worth The Hype Mascara – £9.00

I recently popped into my local Boots store and after spending a good 15 minutes talking to the lovely consultant on there, I suddenly realised that she only had mascara on one eye. Turns out they had just launched a brand new mascara and her lashes looked incredible!

Long story short, I knew I needed it if it would make my lashes as fluffy and full as hers so it’s now part of the beauty collection. I haven’t put it to the test just yet as I’m waiting to finish my current one but as soon as I do, I’ll be posting a short review on here.

The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Rescue Cream Mask – £11.00

It’s safe to say, my skin bloody hates the cold. Normally pretty dehydrated, my skin is now thirstier than ever, patchy and red 80% of the time unless I’m wearing a full coverage foundation and feels tight as hell.

I picked up this little beauty a few weeks back and so far so good! I leave a thick layer on overnight when my skin is looking angry and agitated and it helps to calm it massively. It also smells so fresh!

Jeffree Star Blood Sugar Palette – £46.00

How could this not get a mention?! If you follow me on Instagram, you would have already noticed that the Blood Sugar palette joined my collection several weeks ago.

When Jeffree announced this newbie, I knew I needed it immediately, Annoyingly, Beauty Bay didn’t stock it for a long time but as soon as I was able to pre-order it, I did so instantly. It’s a good thing I did because it sold out super fast and I was so lucky to be able to get it!

I love everything about this palette. The shades, the formulas, the packaging. Literally everything is perfect and I’m loving using it so far.

That’s pretty much all I’ve added into my collection this month as I’ve been on a spending ban and saving instead!

Any questions as always, please feel free to pop them in the comments section below.

Thank you so much for reading as always and I hope you’ve enjoyed this post.

Until next time,

Ultimate Brand Favourites – SMASHBOX

It’s no secret to anybody who follows me that I’m head over heels in love with Smashbox Cosmetics and their products. I used to work for them and despite the fact I used a lot of their products before joining the company, my collection of course grew massively during my time with the brand and about 50% of what I use nowadays is Smashbox.

I wanted to write about a few of my favourite brands here on my blog so thought I’d start with Smashbox as during my instagram lives, it seems to be the brand that I get the most questions about. So here we are, I thought I’d share my favourite Smashbox products with you all in one nifty little blog post.

Photo Finish Primerizer – £30.00

As I’m sure a lot of you will know, Smashbox are very well known for the incredible primers that they put on the market for us. With so many to choose from, it can be pretty overwhelming at times but if you’re ever in doubt, this is the one for you.

This little gem is a primer and moisturiser in one and has loads of special hidden benefits within it too.

Firstly, this product contains my favourite skincare ingredient of them all – hyaluronic acid. This ingredient not only makes your skin super hydrated with the ability to hold 1000x it’s own water weight but it also plumps the skin leaving you looking healthy and fresh.

Secondly, this product also contains a clever little ingredient called Niacinamide. This is so-say going to be one of the most talked about ingredients within the beauty industry over the next year so keep an eye out for it. The job of this one is to provide food for the skin and acts as a vitamin-like substance. It helps to calm redness and also fights acne too!

Last but not least, due to this product being a 2-in-1, it actually saves you money and space in your make-up bag too!

Studio Skin Concealer – £20.00

I’m definitely one of those people who is always on the hunt for a new concealer. However, no matter how many I use and go through, I always find myself coming back to this one at some point.

Not only is this concealer super full coverage but it also claims to have a 24 hour wear (not something I’ve personally tested myself) and is completely waterproof (something I have tested and can confirm to be true!)

Perfect for use on blemishes, redness, pigmentation or under-eye, this all-rounder concealer is a must-have for me.

24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer – £20.00

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know by now that my big thing is eye make-up. I simply cannot get enough of it. I love playing around with colour, a halo eye is my signature look and anything smokey goes. Therefore, a decent eye primer is essential in order to ensure my make-up stays all day and doesn’t crease or budge.

My go-to eye primer across the board has to be this one. It’s clear in colour so won’t effect the colour of the shadows, the teeniest bit goes the furthest way (meaning that little £20 tube lasts bloody ages!) and it holds shadows like no other primer I’ve ever tried.

Covershot Ablaze Palette – £24.00

To link to the product I’ve talked about above, I thought i’d include my favourite eyeshadow palette from Smashbox too.

This palette was the first ‘warm neutrals’ palette I ever owned and opened me up to the beautiful world of burnt orange smokey eyes which is now undoubtedly my staple look.

This palette contains 2 larger base shades (meaning you won’t run out of your most used shades first) and 6 smaller shadows with a mixture of mattes and shimmers. The pigmentation is outstanding and the shadows are super creamy in texture so they blend like a dream.

Always-On Liquid Lipsticks – £19.00

I’ve talked about these liquid lipsticks many a time on my Instagram, blog and also YouTube so it’ll be no surprise to a lot of you that these are one of my favourite products that Smashbox have own the market.

I absolutely love rocking a matte lip and liquid lipsticks make my life so much easier. These Always-on formulas do exactly what they say on the tube.

A stay-put all-day formula that’s non-drying, super pigmented and ridiculously easy to apply due to it’s pointed applicator. I highly recommend trying these if you haven’t yet!

My personal favourites shades are ‘Out Loud’ (a rusty burnt orange) and ‘Bawse’ (a classic cherry red that suits everybody!)

That’s it for my Smashbox favourites but I’ve loved creating this post and sharing with you my favourite products from the brand. If you enjoyed this type of post let me known in the comments section below, feel free to suggest other brands that you’d like to hear my favourites from and also let me know what Smashbox products you love too!

Thank you so much for reading as always.

Until next time,

Adorli – The Perfect Marketplace For Cruelty-Free & Organic Beauty

Happy Monday everybody! Hope you’re all well and had a lovely weekend.

Today’s post is a little different but one that I am super excited to have created and be publishing for you guys. I was approached last October by a company called The Blogger Crowd who work to link brands and influencers together and they asked if I would be interested in working with a new brand called Adorli. After some research and being provided further information about the brand, I was so excited to accept their offer and begin working with this fabulous new brand that will be launching shortly after this post goes live.

Who are Adorli?

Adorli is a new beauty marketplace who only sell brands that are 100% cruelty-free, organic and completely natural. The brand ethos is to celebrate individual beauty which is something that I’ve always believed and encouraged so much myself.

Adorli believe that purely natural products made with passion and care can cater and be suitable for people worldwide with any diverse beauty need.

You can find their brand new website here and sign up for early access to the site.

What does individuality in beauty mean to me?

To me, make-up is whatever you make it. It’s a form of art and in the end it always fits which is why I love it! Make-up is to be experimented with and is different for every single person so individuality is a massive thing for me.

For me, make-up is also the way that I express myself. You can always tell if I’m feeling fierce as I’ll either be rocking a bright red lip or an intense smoky eye. Any glam night out is accompanied with glitter for that extra added touch of sparkle.

I see make-up as my way of creating that ‘stand out in a crowd’ look, no matter crowd that may be.

What does individuality within beauty mean to you? Let me know in the comments section as I’d love to hear what it means to everybody else.

What brands will be available through Adorli?

XO Balm:

XO balm is a 100% natural treatment designed to help with dry, irritated or rough areas of skin. Their company business plan is created around consideration for economic, environmental and social sustainability. They consistently work alongside many local UK businesses and give on-going support to the charity ‘Give Bees A Chance’ – an organisation who work to help the bee population.

Their multi-purpose balm is creamy in texture and delivers instant hydration, leaves a protective barrier with a matte finish that will nourish and strengthen and is also fragrance and preservative-free too which means that it’s suitable for even the most sensitive of skin.

Luna Kloris:

This is one of the brands on the Adorli marketplace that caught my eye the most as I’m a sucker for the type of product that they create – luxury facial oil.

Luna Kloris was founded by health enthusiast Sahar who believes that with skin being the biggest organ of the whole body and constantly absorbing whatever we put onto it, it’s important to provide your body with a pure and natural ingredient to keep it as healthy as possible. I completely agree with this philosophy! People are so focussed on eating healthy and exercising but often forget about how important it is to have healthy skin too.

Sahar has always been influenced and inspired by ancient beauty secrets of Japanese women and after intensive skincare research, has designed a silky smooth face oil called ‘Go For The Glow’ that is made up of 100% natural ingredients and is packed with antioxidants and vitamins to help achieve that gorgeous healthy glow that we all very much want.

Maggie Ann Nail Varnish:

Maggie Ann is a UK vegan brand founded here in the UK and they create gel effect, cruelty-free nail polishes without any of the typical nasty chemicals within them.

With a carefully designed and precise brush for application, this gel effect varnish will leave you with streak-free, beautifully shiny nails for 5-7 days.

Not only do they create varnishes but they also offer 3 scented nail varnish removers in strawberry and grape, blueberry and pomegranate and lemon and lime.

Ezàpè Naturals:

Ezàpè Naturals create 100% natural skincare products that are packed with certified organic, nutrient-rich and unrefined ingredients that are suitable for the most dry and sensitive of skins. They consistently work to reduce their carbon footprint and are committed to helping our wonderful little planet.

I particularly love the look of their chamomile balm as anything with chamomile wins my heart! It relaxes me, helps me sleep and smells absolutely gorgeous. This balm contains anti-inflammatory ingredients which means that it’s an ideal product for irritated and dry areas of skin.

There are just a few of the brands that will be available through the brand new Adorli site! Each and every brand have incredible values and something so individual about each of them that they deserve all the support and love in the world.

Make sure you follow the link to sign up for early access to the site! Here it is again if you missed it.

Also make sure to give them a follow on social media to keep up to date with what they’re up to!

Find their Instagram here and find their Facebook here.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you’re as excited about the Adorli launch as I am!

Until next time,

New In The Beauty Collection – February

I created this style of post last month as a little bit of a trial to see how popular it proved to be and it turned out that you guys loved it! So here we are with another edition of ‘New In The Beauty Collection.’

Jo Malone – Pomegranate Noir

I’ve been curious about this fragrance for quite a long time as so many people I know wear it and it always smells absolutely beautiful on them. I’ve used Jo Malone body and hand washes for a long time now and recently fell in love with their bath oils so thought it was about time I branched out and also tried their famous fragrances too.

This one has not let me down in the slightest and I’m absolutely obsessed with wearing it. With notes of pomegranate, raspberry, plum and pink pepper, this fragrance is the perfect sweet but spicy, sensual fragrance. You can find this fragrance here.

Violet Voss – Hashtag Palette

The second I set eyes on this back in October on Instagram I knew that as soon as it launched, I’d need to grab it. Eyeshadow palettes are my ultimate obsession and the Violet Voss Holy Grail palette is one of my favourites within my entire collection. This palette has been exactly the same as the rest, beautifully consistent and absolutely 100% worth every penny.

Bobbi Brown – Vitamin Face Base

I’ve wanted this priming moisturising hybrid for as long as I can remember so I’m so glad to finally have it within my collection. This little beauty smoothes effortlessly, leaves  the skin feeling supple and fresh and not only does it nourish with Shea butter but it also primes the skin beautifully with glycerin too. Oh and let’s not forget that it smells absolutely divine!

Aveda –  Smooth Infusion Conditioner

As a few people may know, I recently took the chop and decided to cut a lot of my hair off and I’m now sporting a long bob! Not only did I have a change in length but I also had a tonne of blonde highlights put through it.

When I was at the salon, the hairdresser used the Aveda Smooth Infusion conditioner on me and it made my hair feel incredible. She explained that as I now have areas that are bleached, I will need a much more hydrating conditioner to keep it nourished and soft. I purchased this conditioner and it’s been an absolute God send! Highly recommend if you’re searching for a super hydrating conditioner. You can find it here.

Garnier – Pure Active Micellar Cleansing Water

I’ve been using micellar waters for as long as I can remember and for some reason, had always overlooked this one on the shelf at Boots whilst shopping. Until recently that is.

I’ve been on a mission for the last 10 months to use products up rather than opening new ones but I simply couldn’t live within a standard micellar water so popped into Boots and picked this one up not long ago and I’m really impressed! Considering I normally use oil infused waters to help my dehydrated skin and to remove the toughest of eye make-up, I’ve got on really well with this gentle one for combination skin.

It removes all make-up easily without tugging at the skin and leaves skin feeling supple, smooth and refreshed. It doesn’t strip the skin or leave it feeling dry/dehydrated in the slightest and it’s super easy to use whilst being affordable too! Find it here.

bareMinerals – bareSkin Serum Concealer

I’m starting to realise that I have a slight obsession with concealers recently. I can’t stop bloody buying them so when my bestfriend Marta started banging on about how great this one was, I knew I needed it!

I’m such a big fan of bareMinerals as they’re incredible quality and products but super kind on the skin too so you don’t feel guilty layering more on if you need to.

So far, I’m really enjoying this newbie! It’s lightweight and fresh but has a beautiful buildable coverage to it and a naturally, radiant finish too. If you’re searching for a new concealer, I’d highly recommend this one. Find it here.

That’s it for this months New In The Beauty Collection post so I hope you’ve enjoyed it! As always, any questions or comments can be left below.

Thank you so much for reading.

Until next time,

NEW Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara – Full Review – Is It Worth The Hype?

Happy Monday all! Hope everybody is well, had a lovely weekend and has had a fab start to February. I’m personally hoping for a much better month than January so I’ve got new goals and plans in place and quite simply, can’t wait to get shit done over the next 28 days!

As you can tell from the title of the post, today’s review will be on the brand new mascara that Benefit Cosmetics launched earlier this week. I’ve always been a massive fan of Benefit mascaras (Roller Lash being my fave!) so had high hopes for the newbie.

Their existing mascaras, They’re Real! and Roller Lash currently hold the two top spots within the prestige UK make-up market for mascaras and after sitting firmly at those spots for several years, I wouldn’t be surprised if this new addition quickly becomes number 3.

If you follow Benefit on any social media, you would have seen this launch being built up and hyped more than ever. I used to work for Benefit years ago and the last time I can remember a product being hyped up this much was when they launched their whole new brow range which was so big the UK went mad for it – so I knew this new product would be a big deal.

It’s no surprise that this mascara is already flying off of the shelves. Not only is it everywhere you look on every Benefit counter and plastered all over social media with massive influencers also loving it but Benefit are offering a gift with purchase if you buy the mascara! It’s not a bad gift either like some companies often offer. It’s a beautiful holographic pink make-up bag as pictured so well worth a cheeky new mascara purchase.

Another mascara? Really?

I imagine you’re probably thinking ‘why could Benefit possibly need another mascara when they’ve got the two best selling ones in the UK already?’ Well, I thought about that too but the answer is pretty simple actually. They’re Real! is known for providing insane amounts of length and being super long lasting whereas Roller Lash is all about delivering that fluffy curl. Volume you ask? Neither of them will give you that which is exactly why Bad Gal Bang has been created.

After researching into this mascara and getting all the nitty gritty deets, it’s actually a really clever and cool product. It’s no wonder it’s taken Benefit 5 years to create it. Yep, that’s right – 5 whole years!

Why is it so different?

Let’s be honest, there are so many mascaras on the market now that it can be pretty overwhelming walking into a beauty department and knowing where to go. It’s so important to know exactly what makes each product stand out from it’s competitors because essentially, that’s what makes you buy it, right?

There’s a lot to this clever little lash coater but to prevent me writing a VERY long blog post, I’ll just list the key points that got my attention the most.

  1. As mentioned above, it’s taken 5 long years to create! To me, that seems like one hell of a lot of tweaking, work, research and perfecting to get a product exactly how they want it. Over these 5 years, it also took 75 prototypes of the wand to get it just right
  2. The formula features aero-particles derived from Space technology (this explains the ‘out of this world’ quote that I kept seeing floating about before the launch!) The aero-particles are one of the most lightweight raw materials known to man which helps to create a featherweight feel and prevents lashes from feeling heavy and weighed down
  3. It also contains Vitamin B5 which not only conditions but also helps to strengthen lashes which long term will result in naturally thicker and fuller looking lashes
  4. Benefit claims it to be water resistant which is great as let’s be honest, nobody likes getting caught short with a running mascara on a rainy day
  5. It apparently lasts for a whopping 36 hours! Not something I’ll personally trial as I have no need to wear a mascara that long and quite frankly, the thought scares me a little but it’ll be fab for those on holiday!

What are my thoughts?

Without a doubt, this mascara definitely delivers heaps of volume as promised. Some people may find the amount of volume TOO much as it does make your lashes super thick and jet black too. Personally I like my lashes to look as thick as possible in order to frame my eyes. However, for those who don’t like a thick lash effect, this one may not be for you.

Although I really love this mascara already, I have a strong feeling that I’m going to like it even more in a month or so once it’s dried out a little. I’m not sure why but I often find this with volumizing mascaras and tend to prefer a slightly drier formula as opposed to when I first get them.

I love the packaging of this mascara, the wand is great as it’s flexible to adjust and wiggle into your lashes and the wear time is hefty as promised.

How does it compare to the other Benefit mascaras?

I’m sure this is a question that a few people want answering so I thought I’d finish the post with my answer. For me personally, Roller Lash is still my favourite. The only reason for this is that my lashes are poker straight and therefore, a curling mascara is my best friend. However, that being said, I’m really intrigued to see how Bad Gal Bang looks if I curl my lashes beforehand. I’m confident that heaps of volume with a beautiful fluffy curl will be ideal for my lashes so I’ll definitely be trying it out very soon.

That pretty much sums up my review of the new Benefit Bad Gal Bang which I have linked throughout incase you wanted to take a look but I’ll also link it here incase you missed it.

As always, please feel free to leave any questions or comments below and I’ll be sure to get back to you! Thank you so much for reading and I hope you’ve enjoyed the post.

Until next time,

Profusion Cosmetics – First Impressions & Swatches

Finally we’re clear of January and into a new month! I don’t know why but I find a new month so exciting as it means new challenges, new goals and a new to-do list to make my way through (well, attempt to make my way through and probably fail miserably) so I’m personally very glad it’s February and can’t wait to get my teeth into everything new this month.

I thought I’d start the month with another first impressions post as these always seem to be pretty popular with you guys. My most viewed blog post on here is a first impressions one so I thought why not start the month off with something similar and review a brand that’s fairly new to the UK, Profusion Cosmetics.

I was kindly sent a couple of their palettes recently and I’ve been trying them out, testing them fully and getting as much of an opinion on them as I possibly can to write this blog post. When I shared the palettes on my Instagram stories, a few people were asking for a full review so here we are!

Who are Profusion Cosmetics?

Profusion Cosmetics are a make-up brand originally founded in LA 20 years ago. They’re a brand that I’m super excited to be working with as they love colour and creativity. Their products are high quality but with an affordable price tag and they’re also cruelty-free too.

Launched in the UK last month, Profusion Cosmetics have brought to us two incredible new collections – The Artistry Collection and The Trendsetter Collection.

Strobe & Glow Artistry Palette – £12.50

If you’ve followed my blog or Instagram for a while, you’ll know that my favourite make-up product in the world is highlighter. I love nothing more than to be visible from space with a blinding highlight and if I’m not glowy, then it’s not worth leaving my house.

One of the products that I received was the Strobe & Glow highlighting palette from the Trendsetter Collection which was honestly made for me. The palette consists of 9 different shimmery powders that enable you to create a gentle ‘lit from within’ glow to a beaming, full glam glow. The shades are all beautiful when used individually or look stunning when layered over one another to create your custom shade of highlight too.

The packaging is sturdy, great for travelling and even comes with a super soft little brush for application too!

Pro Face – £15.00

This is without a doubt one of the best value for money sets I think I’ve ever come across. I’ve already decided that next time I go away for a few days, this palette will be coming with me as it literally contains everything that you need to create a full face natural or glam look.

This little beauty book of goodness contains 20 highly pigmented eyeshadows in a mix of matte, satin and shimmer finishes, 2 duo brow powders (meaning 4 different brow powder shades!) with a clear brow wax, 2 beautiful blinding highlighters, 3 blushers, 2 bronzers (both a light and a medium shade) and 2 brushes – one for the eyes and one for the face. I honestly can’t believe how much you get inside this palette and how high quality it all is too. More often that not, when you have a palette with a large number of products inside, the quality is compromised and the products end up not great. With this palette however, everything is consistently good and for the price, you literally can’t go wrong.

The packaging is a soft padded, waterproof material with the palette name embossed on the front along with a photo of what’s inside.

From what I’ve tried so far, I absolutely love Profusion Cosmetics! Their products are such fab quality considering how low they’re priced and I can’t wait to try more from the brand in the future.

Thank you so much to Fuel PR for sending over these Profusion Cosmetics goodies and giving me the chance to try out and review them.

Also a massive thank you to those of you that have read this post! I hope you’ve enjoyed the read.

Until next time,

Wonderland Make-Up – First Impressions

How the hell is it still January?! I swear this month alone feels longer than the whole of 2017 and I’ll be glad to wave January goodbye at the end of this week.

I was lucky enough to receive an email from Wonderland Make-Up several weeks ago asking if I’d like to try out and review a couple of their products so I happily accepted and I’ve been testing out the products they sent over, ready for this little blog post.

Who are Wonderland Make-Up?

Wonderland Make-Up are a UK based and cruelty-free cosmetic brand. They pride themselves on creating high quality, premium products at a low price as they believe that you shouldn’t have to spend huge amounts to look and feel fabulous.

Studio Finish Primer – £15.00

I’m a real sucker when it comes to primer because despite what some people say, it makes a massive difference to the way that make-up looks and lasts on the skin. A lot of people also don’t realise that primers also help to protect the skin! They act as a barrier between your skincare and foundation which helps your skincare to perform better and deliver everything it promises to.

The Studio Finish primer is definitely my favourite product that they sent over and I’ve been using it non-stop since it arrived in the post.

With a super smooth and silky texture, this lightweight, oil-free priming gel leaves skin looking airbrushed and flawless whilst helping make-up to last all day. Unlike most silica-based primers, this one doesn’t dry the skin out and actually helps my normally dehydrated skin feel nourished and soft whilst refining any large pores too. It’s an absolute God send!

The packaging is simple and small which makes it easy to travel with too. Highly recommend this product if you’re on the hunt for a new primer!

Lash Lengthening Mascara With Fibres – £11.50

2018 seems to be the year where I’m trying out new fibre mascaras as recently I’ve tested out quite a few different ones so I was really interested to see how this one would compare.

To be honest, up until recently I’ve not been a fan of fibre mascaras as they’ve always been a bit of a terrifying concept to me and I was originally only going to review the wand, packaging and look of this mascara. However, I thought I’d finally bite the bullet as I’ve been seeing so many people on Instagram raving about this one in particular and gave it a go on my own lashes to see if it was worth the hype.

I’m quite lucky in the sense that my lashes are naturally pretty long and thick naturally. However, compared to how this mascara made my lashes look when I tried it, without it they look pretty pathetic.

This mascara added tonnes of volume and a heap of length whilst making my lashes jet black and fluffier than ever. The formula was easy to apply and build up, I didn’t experience any smudging underneath the eye and it didn’t flake all over my face either which was something that I was wary of. Overall, I’m pretty damn impressed!

The wand is plastic but still super gentle and makes mascara application easier than ever. One side of the wand has longer bristles for upper lashes and the other side has bristles that are shorter in length and can be used as a comb for the bottom lashes which helps to avoid any clumping.

Wonderdust Loose Pigment – £6.50

Surprisingly, for somebody who’s a massive palette collector, I actually have a lot of loose pigments within my collection that I didn’t properly realise I had until I received this in the post and went through all of my others.

I find pigments really easy to use and so versatile too! I use mine as eyeshadow and also liner (both wet and dry) and the matte black shade that they sent over is perfect for both. Not only does it create the most intense and sharp winged liner but it’s also ideal for a bold smoky eye when it’s used all over the lid.

The packaging is compact, easy to open and easy to store within your make-up collection too.

I can’t wait to get more shades of these pigments (I’m eyeing up the shades Hazmatt, Burst and Ivy!) and build my collection of them.

Overall, I’m really impressed with Wonderland Make-Up! Their products are extremely high quality for the low price point and the brand as a whole seem fab too.

Thank you so much to the team at Wonderland Make-Up for sending over these products to try and also for sending out a little 15% off discount code for all of you guys too! If you’d like to treat yourself to a few bits feel free to use the code Bloglife15 (it’s not an affiliate code, just a bit of discount for you guys but I won’t be earning money from it – just so you know) but I highly recommend all of the products in todays post which you can find linked into the titles.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you’ve enjoyed the post!

How Feather & Down Pillow Spray Has Changed My Sleep Game

Evening folks! Hope you’re well.

So, as you may know if you follow my Instagram or my Twitter, I’ve really been struggling to sleep over the past few months. I’ve been hella stressed to say the least and when I’ve got a lot on my mind, there’s no way I can doze off without a struggle and I haven’t been managing to fall off to sleep until gone 2am most mornings. As you can imagine, this is an absolute nightmare when you have to be up for work the next morning and also work in a customer facing role where you’re not really allowed to look sleepy. For these reasons, I knew that I needed to do something pronto to help my sleep routine and get things back in gear.

I started off by searching on Google what may help and to be completely honest, thought that most of it was just a load of shit. I tried most of them and I was right – they did bugger all and if anything, stressed me out even more because they weren’t working and I was led in bed trying to force my active mind to sleep when it just possibly couldn’t.

Just when I was about to give up and book a doctors appointment because it was getting out of control and I was on my 5th day of a horrendous migraine, I stumbled across the Feather & Down Pillow Spray. I’d seen this range before when I worked in Boots previously and it had always caught my eye but never been something I’d needed so to be honest, I’d completely forgotten about it.

For £7, I thought why the hell not. I was willing to try absolutely anything in the hopes of achieving a decent nights sleep and if it didn’t work, well at least my pillow would smell nice nonetheless.

The real questions is – Did it actually work?

No joke.

I tested the spray for the first time when I wasn’t working the next day as I didn’t want it to be too strong and make me super sleepy and drowsy in work. The fear of drowsiness was completely unnecessary and instead I should have worried about sleeping through my alarm. I slept 10 hours straight with no waking up in between, no restlessness and no sleepiness the following day. I have no idea how and no idea why this had such an incredible effect on me but I couldn’t believe it.

The pillow spray smells absolutely beautiful (Camomile and Lavender) and sends me off into a peaceful sleep so quickly. It’s the cosiest and most comforting smell in the world for me now and I can’t wait to use it each night.

The only time I find that I can’t use this spray is if I’m suffering with a migraine and sickness really badly as when that happens, I’m extremely sensitive to smells and lavender is a trigger for me and always has been. However, if I’m migraine free and use this, it won’t cause one. I just avoid using it if I’m trying to sleep when I already have one.

The only tip I have is to use this spray at least 40cm away from your pillow as if you spritz it too close, you get a soggy pillow and that’s not the most comfortable thing to sleep on!

If you’re interested, you can find the Feather & Down Pillow Spray here. I’d definitely recommend it if like me, you have trouble sleeping.

Have you tried any sleep sprays or have any suggestions to support a peaceful nights sleep? Let me know in the comments section below as I’d love to hear what works for everybody else.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you’ve enjoyed this little review.

Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Palette – Full Review & Swatches

Happy Friday! I hope everybody has had a lovely week and you’re all geared up for a hopefully fab weekend.

That’s right, another eyeshadow palette in my ever-growing collection but as soon as I saw this Morphe X Jaclyn Hill collaboration, I just knew that I needed it. It wasn’t just a want, it was a genuine need. I don’t have any palettes with as much of a range as this one so I was adamant on getting it.

The first time it launched on Beauty Bay, I missed it and I was absolutely gutted. If you were amongst that launch chaos and got through the other side then I hold my hands up to you because that strength and bravery deserves a bloody medal. The website kept crashing, the wait queue was hours long (literally HOURS) and then it sold out quicker than ever. To say I was gutted is an understatement. However, as soon as I found out that  another batch would be available a few weeks later, I was prepared and ready with my phone and bank card in hand. This time it was completely painless and I ordered within minutes. A few days later this beauty arrived at my door and I was like a kid at Christmas.

This palette is a mixture of creamy mattes and metallic foils whilst it also delivers beautiful every day, natural shades and packs a punch with bright bolds too. Without a doubt, this palette is the most versatile amongst my crazy collection and one that I have been reaching for constantly since it arrived.

After seeing so many reviews and YouTube videos about this gem, I knew that the quality was good but I underestimated it a little and was completely blown away by just how amazing it actually is. The mattes blend beautifully without going patchy or looking uneven on the eye and the metallics are so buttery and smooth that they glide onto the eye effortlessly.

There are only two small things about this palette that frustrate me a little that I believe could have made the palette just that touch better. For one, the palette is white. As pretty and as elegant as it is, it becomes filthy ridiculously quickly and is very difficult to clean due to being made of cardboard. The normal Morphe packaging would have been much more practical. Secondly, it’s lacking a mirror big time! I know Morphe palettes don’t normally have them but I feel that it would make this one so much better as I constantly pick it up looking for one. However, I know Morphe are an affordable brand and therefore keep costs down as much as they can so a mirror might not have been possible.

Overall, despite the packaging and lack of mirror, this palette is an absolute beauty. I’m over the moon that I managed to get it within my collection and will continue to use it non-stop.

Thank you so much for reading and until next time,
