I’m so excited to be sharing my thoughts on the brand new Benefit foundation that will be launching on Saturday 22nd June because it’s rare I find a base product that I love as much as I love this.
As soon as I heard that the newest launch from Benefit would be a medium-full coverage glowy foundation, I was SO excited. Anything that promises to deliver a glow is going straight into my make-up bag and put to the test. This foundation did not disappoint in the slightest and has actually over exceeded my expectations massively.
Now, it’s safe to say I’m extremely picky when it comes to foundation because I love a glow but don’t like it to appear stupidly oily or to slip off of my face. I also love a good coverage but hate it to look cakey and thick. Picky is the understatement of the year and the amount of foundations that I’ve tried, tested and hated throughout the years is unbelievable. I’ve actually lost count if I’m honest.
What’s So Great About Hello Happy Flawless Brightening Foundation?
Thankfully, the new Benefit Hello Happy Flawless Brightening Foundation does exactly what it says on the box. No seriously, the box literally has all of the ‘best bits’ listed on the side so that when you’re purchasing, you know exactly the type of product you’re buying.
As promised, this foundation brightens skin due to it’s clever photochromic pigments that adapt it’s surroundings and brighten in any lighting. Flower acids boost radiance by naturally exfoliating the skin and removing dead skin cells and lastly, Hyaluronic Acid (my favourite ingredient for base products EVER!) keeps skin hydrated despite the foundation’s oil-free formula. Let’s not also forget it’s 12-hour long wear, SPF 15 and beautiful buildable coverage.
How Do I Wear It?
Generally speaking, I tend to go for a medium coverage day-to-day and build to a fuller coverage if I’m going anywhere special in the evening. Hello Happy Brightening foundation has such a lightweight feel that even when you build your coverage to how you like, it doesn’t look or feel heavy on the skin whatsoever.
I pair it with my favourite concealer (under eyes for those sleepy bags and any redness/blemishes), set under my eyes with a translucent powder and that’s more than enough coverage for the daytime for me personally.
What’s The Packaging Like?
In true Benefit style the packaging is absolutely adorable. Much like their Hello Happy Soft Blur foundation that launched last year, the bottle features the cutest little smiley face with a pink metallic lid. What’s even more exciting is that Benefit are taking the right steps to be more eco-friendly and their new foundation comes in a glass bottle – recyclable and also a little more luxurious!
They’ve also made it super easy to shop and find your shade by matching the colour of the box to the shade inside. This means that if you’re buying for somebody else, it makes life a little easier as the colour and tone is clear from the outer packaging.
It’s safe to say this foundation has absolutely stole my heart (and a space within my daily make-up bag!) and is now hands down my favourite everyday foundation. I love the coverage, finish, staying power and the hella cute packaging definitely makes it more lovable too.
