For those who don’t know, The Liebster Award Tag is a blog post designed to find out the nitty gritty details about us bloggers! You get nominated by somebody who has already taken part in the tag and they give you a set of questions to answer. You then nominate and tag another group of bloggers with your own set of questions for them. I got super excited when Hannah nominated me as I personally love reading posts like this.
How long have you been blogging?
Properly, since December last year. I created a ‘blog’ on Blogger about 2 years ago but literally posted on it once so I don’t consider that as an actual blog. My current blog on WordPress officially started in December 2016.
What’s your favourite posts to read?
I love reading monthly favourites! I’ve always loved YouTube videos like this but recently fell in love with the written version of a monthly favourites too. I also search for blog posts about new and upcoming products in the beauty industry to see what other people are saying about them – I’m really heavily influenced by what other beauty bloggers and gurus say.
What’s your favourite posts to write?
I really enjoying sharing first impressions with my readers. I think a first impression of a product/brand speaks a thousand words so I tend to write a lot of posts like this. Just like I enjoy reading them, I also enjoying sharing my monthly favourites.
What is your next goal for your blog?
My next little milestone is to reach 2,000 readers. It’s not a lot but it’s a start and all bloggers have to start somewhere, right?
Which social media do you use the most? For both personal and your blog?
Undoubtedly, Instagram! Although it’s currently a pain in the ass to gain followers and get any sort of growth on there, I still love it. I try to post every day and share a mix of make-up looks, product reviews and swatches. You can follow me here!
What is your hobby? (outside of blogging)
I suppose it’s kinda linked to my blog but not strictly. I’m well and truly into make-up and all things artistry. That’s mainly what I use Instagram for, sharing my latest look.
If you could start your blog all over again, would you? and how would it differ?
I don’t think that I actually would! Currently, I love the way my blog works for me and it does/gives me everything I could want. Who knows, maybe that answer won’t be the same in months/years to come but for now, it’s exactly as I want it.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
This might not sound very exciting but I’d absolutely love to one day live in Cardiff! I don’t know if it’s because of the beautiful shopping centres or that it’s pretty close to my home here in Bristol but I love the idea of one day living there. I’d also quite like to live in London at some point.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to a new blogger?
Invest in a decent camera! Good quality images make a massive difference to a blog post and I quite often open and read posts if they simply have an interesting and well taken front/header image. I currently use the Sony A5000 and I love it.
Are you subscribed to any subscription boxes or magazines? if so, which?
I used to be subscribed to Glossybox for about a year but cancelled it about 4-5 months ago. I kept finding that I would receive the box, open it, think ‘meh’, close it and then put it to one side whilst forgetting what was inside. I dunno, I guess their boxes never really blow me away but I’d love to find a new one to subscribe to so if you have any suggestions, let me know!
Favourite sweets/chocolate?
I’ve always loved Lindt (the original one mainly) but recently I love Maltesers! I’ve been calorie counting and these are quite low in calories so they don’t make me feel too guilty. I also love Haribo and have done ever since I was little.
