As this post goes live, I’ll be sat in my hotel room prepping myself and trying not to freak out about the fact that tomorrow morning I’m going into hospital for surgery that will literally change my life.
I guess ‘freaking out’ is a strong term but of course, having surgery is a big deal so I am feeling pretty nervous as I’m sure anybody would. However, I’ve wanted this surgery for such a long time that excitement far outweighs nerves and I can’t wait to see results and feel like a brand new me.
For those who don’t know, on Saturday 26th May 2018, I’ll be undergoing a breast reduction and mastopexy (breast uplift) with MYA Cosmetic Surgery and I’m so excited I could burst.
I’ve never 100% been happy with the size and shape of my boobies and I’ve lost quite a bit of weight over the last few years. For this reason, in March I booked an initial consultation with MYA and I haven’t looked back since.
I guess I find this whole journey quite interesting myself as I know multiple people that have had breast augmentation (implants) and watched their journeys. They’ve paid to have boobs, I’m paying to lose some and have them pinned in place. Weird huh? Of course, everybody has cosmetic surgery for various different reasons and that’s the magic of it. No matter what your reason is, your procedure will be unique to you and your needs/wants.
Whilst you read this post, I’ll be with my best friend Meg getting myself ready for the big day tomorrow. I have to remove all of my piercings, take off all nail varnish, remove all deodorants and lotions from my skin and basically be ready to show up to the hospital tomorrow morning as bare as the day I was born. I’m surprised I haven’t been asked to shave my head to be honest but apparently that’ll be tied up in a funny little hat instead so I needn’t worry.
For now, I’ll be signing off and I’ll be back shortly with a post all about how my surgery went.
See you on the other side,
Georgia x
