With Halloween now over and done with, the realisation that it’ll be Christmas soon is well and truly setting in. Not just that, but it no longer feels like we’re in the full swing of Autumn anymore and instead it’s clear that Winter is quickly approaching and just around the corner.
Winter always does peculiar things to my skin and flips everything upside down. It happens every single year and most of the time I’m not prepared in the slightest. This year I’ll be ready and waiting for the elements to attack my normally dehydrated skin and make it even more annoyingly thirsty.
I’m always on the hunt for new moisturisers as soon as the wind speed picks up and the temperature drops. I was so excited when I received a message from the lovely team at Frezyderm offering to send me out their newest launch of moisturiser to try out and couldn’t wait to see what wonders it did for my skin.
Frezyderm are a dermatologically tested skincare brand founded in the UK who offer products suitable for all ages and skin types. They kindly sent me their Sun Screen back in the summer and it helped my skin unbelievably during the heat. You can find my full review here. I got on really well with it so I was really intrigued to see how the moisturiser would work with it being the complete opposite end of the scale and so much colder now.
This cream states to deliver long lasting, 24 hour moisturization, repairs barriers on the skin, protects against free radicals and prevents photo ageing whilst also being completely paraben free too! This is everything I look for in a moisturiser so couldn’t wait to try it out.
On first glance, the packaging is exactly the same as the sun screen that I have previously used which I love! It looks very scientific, professional and sturdy. I hate the types of packaging where you’re worrying that the pump will stop working/snap off but with this product, I was happy with how durable and sturdy the packaging is. The pump also has a locking mechanism which is great if you’re travelling or if you take things on the go frequently as it will prevent any leakages in your bag.
The texture of this moisturiser is lovely. It’s lightweight, refreshing and sinks in instantly. I’ve tried many creams in the past that feel so ridiculously thick on the skin that you feel as if you can’t put make-up on top. Even as somebody with dry skin, many products are so thick to the point that they’re only suitable for use before bed as they need those full 8 hours to sink in properly. This one isn’t like that in the slightest and sinks into the skin instantly and effortlessly.
I’ve tried using this product not only as a moisturiser but also as a little bit of a primer. Putting it as a base before make-up actually worked really well and created a smooth and hydrated canvas for my foundation to glide onto. I didn’t use any other primer alongside it and found that my make-up lasted just as well as it always does whenever I use my normal primers and stayed sitting beautifully on the skin from morning to night.
One thing that I especially love about this range is that Frezyderm have created moisturisers for specific age categories so that there will be one suitable for absolutely anybody. I was sent the one for the age group 20+ which is perfect for me as I’m still a baby at just 21 but if you’re in a different age category, there will be one suitable and designed for you too.
Something that I did notice that may be off putting for some people is that this product is quite heavily florally scented. Personally, I love a nice scent and more often than not, I’m more inclined to buy products if they smell good. However, if you’re sensitive to scented products which I know some people are, this may not be completely right for you.
Overall, I really like this moisturiser. It left my skin feeling smooth, hydrated and supple. I’ll be continuing to use it over the next month as it’s fitted into my normal skincare routine perfectly and my skin seems to really be liking it so far.
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you’ve enjoyed this review.
Until next time,
