Once again the time of year has rolled around where my skin decides to become my worst enemy and completely turn against me – damn you cold weather! Thankfully, Dermalogica have my back and very kindly gifted me the most festive Winter Care Kit I could possibly wish for.
I use Dermalogica products on a daily basis (their Pre-Cleanse oil is my fave!) but the majority of the products within my Winter Care Kit, I’ve never used before so I was super excited to introduce them into my skincare routine and undoubtedly fall head over heels in love with them, just like everything else I’ve tried.
Intensive Moisture Cleanser – £35 (150ml)
I don’t know about you lot, but I tend to find a lot of cleansers that REALLY clear the crap from my face, end up drying my skin out which when you’ve already got dehydrated skin like me, is the last thing you need. However, for once I think I’ve actually found a cleanser that does the opposite to this!
The Intensive Moisture Cleanser not only gives your skin the perfect detox that it needs (especially at this time of year!) but it also rehydrates the skin and leaves your face feeling soft, supple and refreshed.
Extracts of Citrus, Palmarosa and Jasmine refresh dull and tired looking skin whilst leaving you looking more luminous and lifted.
Precleanse Balm – £42 (90ml)
The Precleanse Balm is great if like me, you wear makeup on a daily basis and need to double cleanse your skin in the evenings. I start my routine by removing makeup using the Precleanse Balm as this melts away even the most stubborn of eye makeup and makes my skin feel super soft. It’s also so easy to use as you simply massage the balm into dry skin and the oily formula helps to break down and remove make-up.
I then go in with either my Intensive Moisture Cleanser or Super Cleansing Gel to finish my routine.
Redness Relief Essence – £38 (150ml)
One of the main things that bothers me about my skin throughout Winter is redness. For some reason, my cheeks and nose become super red as soon as the frosty weather kicks in and despite wearing a full face of make-up every day for work, the rosy cheeks are often peeking through by the middle of the day.
The Redness Relief Essence almost feels like a mix between a toner and serum as it’s super lightweight (much like a toner) but has the concentration of a serum.
This product is perfect if your skin is sensitive as it helps to calm redness and rebuilds your skins moisture barrier to help with sensitivity.
Barrier Defence Booster – £67 (30ml)
If your skin is more sensitive during the Winter months, this product would be absolutely perfect for you. Designed to moisturise, nourish and soothe the skin, this concentrated oil restores balance to the skin. It also helps to relieve dryness and fights against future irritation by strengthening your skins barrier against pollutants and environmental stressors.
I’ve been mixing this in with my daily moisturiser but you can also use it before moisturising too.
Intensive Moisture Balance – £68 (100ml)
I’ve been using this moisturiser on days when my skin feels really dehydrated and tight but also at night too as I find a thicker texture cream to be better for my skin whilst I sleep.
Containing Hyaluronic acid to rehydrate, Aloe Vera to soothe and Vitamin C to brighten and fight against ageing, this product has very quickly become a favourite within my skincare routine.
This moisturiser is particularly fab mixed with the Barrier Defence Booster mentioned above.
Nightly Lip Treatment – £47.50 (10ml)
This was probably the product amongst my Winter Kit that I was most excited about trying. Firstly, because my lips get so dry during the Winter and it’s absolutely unbearable but secondly, because there’s no better feeling that having super soft lips and your lipstick gliding on like an absolute dream, right?
Whilst Sesame Seed Extract restores the skins volume and reduces fine lines, vitamin-rich Shea Butter nourishes and hydrates to restore the skin’s barrier and improve resilience against ageing.
The metallic applicator is also super soothing as the cool touch plumps and calms the skin (which is particularly good if you’ve just cleansed the skin and removed makeup before bed.) I’ve definitely noticed a difference to my lips since using this so it’ll be staying firmly put in my evening routine!
That sums up all of the products within my new skincare kit and I think it’s safe to say that I bloody love everything! I’m pretty picky when it comes to skincare as I’ve tried so many different brands and products over the years but Dermalogica wins my heart every time.
Thank you all for reading and I hope you’ve enjoyed this weeks post!
Love & Lipstick,
