It seems that everywhere you look nowadays, the word ‘glow’ is screaming at you from every direction and personally, I can 100% understand why.
I strive to be the glowiest I can possibly be on a daily basis because for me personally, a matte finish just isn’t right. My skin is naturally pretty dehydrated so of course like any normal person, I want what I don’t have and will do anything possible to make my skin glow from within. It seems that I’m not the only one as ‘#glowyskin’ is a highly searched tag on Instagram and almost everyone is looking to achieve a gorgeous glow this year.
There are so many products on the beauty and skincare market that promise to deliver a ‘glow’ but do they really? About 80% of the products of which I’ve tried, that claim to deliver, really don’t. For that reason, I’m here to share with you the most illuminating and glowy products on the market. The ones that are absolute staples within my skincare and make-up routines and the ones that quite simply, I cannot seem to put down.
GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega illuminating Moisturiser – £36.00
Let’s be real, the amount of moisturisers on the market that have the word ‘glow’ within the name of them is ridiculous. I’ve tried more than I can remember over the years and up until now, I’ve never found one that I can hand on heart say that I absolutely love. this was at least up until about a year ago when I introduced the GlamGlow Mega Illuminating Moisturiser into my skincare routine.
This little pot of glowing goodness makes skin look and feel nourished, plumped and instantly brighter. Packed full of hyularonic acid, this moisturiser hydrates skin instantly and continues to do so during a full day or night of wear. Let’s not forget to mention that it smells like an absolute dream too! Somewhere between a mixture of chocolate orange and skittles, the GlamGlow Mega Illuminating Moisturiser smells good enough to eat.
Smashbox Photo Finish Radiance Primer – £30.00
I’m a sucker when it comes to Smashbox primers and the day that they announced they were launching a radiance primer was one of my favourite moments in Smashbox history. I remember when I tried this primer for the first time and couldn’t believe quite how incredibly illuminated my whole face looked. Not only that, but it provided skincare benefits and kept make-up in place all day too – result!
With a combination of bronze and amber pearls, this primer looks stunning on all skin tones and gives the perfect lit from within glow.
Dior Star Foundation – £35.00
There aren’t many foundations that I purchase over and over again. Mainly because I simply have so many that there’s not much point. Put it this way, for me to regularly re-purchase a foundation, it has to completely knock my socks off. Dior Star foundation has now been re-purchased 5 times over the past 3 years which really does say a lot about how much I love it.
Full coverage, the most beautiful radiant finish and stays put all day – my absolute dream. This foundation is hands down my favourite on the market and I’m praying that Dior never discontinue it!
Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops (Shade Celestial) – £34.00
Liquid highlighters have always been something that I’ve avoided in the past. Normally because I find that they separate my makeup, never quite give a strong enough glow or just end up coming off and wearing away too quickly. Cover FX completely surprised me with their custom enhancer drops as the performance it delivers is the complete opposite to anything I’ve experienced from a liquid highlighter before.
This dainty little tube of liquid highlighter packs one hell of a punch and is undoubtedly, the glowiest product I own within my makeup collection. The tiniest amount is needed for the most intense beaming glow and it blends out like a dream using hands, a brush or even a beauty sponge. Unlike most liquid highlighters, the Cover FX drops don’t have a greasy or slippery texture to them so they look beautiful without emphasising any texture or dry areas of the skin. I use these clever little drops both as a highlighter and a mixing agent with my primers for a radiant base underneath foundations.
Anastasia Beverly Hills X Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit – £46.00
I’m sure it’s not just me that has an addiction to palettes, right? I just find it so much easier having multiple products and shades all in one nifty little box. I also find them so handy on those days when I’m indecisive as I can mix them all together if I really want to and just wing it with my own custom shade.
I own a few of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kits but the Nicole Guerriero one is definitely my favourite due to the mixture and variety of shades. There’s a mixture of light, medium and darker shades with different levels of glow intensity so no matter what look you’re going for, there will be a shade for you.
The list could honestly go on but I thought 5 products was enough in order to keep this short and sweet! Thank you so much for reading and I hope you’ve enjoyed this post.
Love & Lipstick,
