I wrote a post similar to this one last year when I completed Blogmas and it was one of my most popular posts so I thought I’d review this years market too. I guess a lot of people must research Christmas markets online before visiting the city to determine which are the best ones. Maybe that’s why it tends to be a pretty commonly read post.
This year’s market is pretty similar to last year’s with a few added stalls and bits of entertainment here and there. As always, the large central seating area is there for you to drink and get merry or eat the food from the many food stalls.
One main difference I noticed between last year’s market and this year’s is that they haven’t got a huge Christmas tree this year! Last year it was absolutely bloody massive whereas at the moment I can’t see one there at all. A little disappointing because I thought it was beautiful and so festive.
I’ve been pleased to see the return of the German Bratwurst sausages as they’re absolutely dreamy. My personal favourite is the bacon flavoured sausage with melted cheese running through it. Easily the most delicious hot dog I’ve ever tried in my life and I just can’t get enough.
Of course the incredible churros get a mention too because they’re easily my favourite sweet snack around Christmas time. Little sticks of sugary goodness coated in Nutella – perfection. You can also choose original chocolate, strawberry or caramel sauce too.
I’m not personally the type to buy gifts and ornaments from the stalls but by the looks of it, the choice this year is incredible! There’s a huge range of different bits and bobs you can pick up including clothing, various ornaments, cooking accessories plus so much more.
Overall, I’m really impressed with this year’s market. The atmosphere when walking through is festive, warm and lively. If you’re in Bristol over the next few weeks, make sure to stop in Broadmead and have a look around. The market is there until the 23rd so you still have a while.
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you’ve enjoyed this short and sweet post.
