Georgia Phelps Just like last year, day 16 will be a post dedicated to my birthday because today I turned a year older, got a little bit wiser (definitely debatable) and celebrated in style whilst covered in sequins.
Hands down, this year was the best birthday I’ve ever had and I couldn’t be more thankful of those around me for making it so special and one to remember.
My birthday celebrations began last night with a girls night out in Bristol with my nearest and dearest ladies. Glammed up, covered in birthday badges and ready to take on as many jagerbombs as humanly possible, we headed to Lloyds on Bristol Harbourside to begin the night with a ‘spoons cocktail pitcher (or 4) because there’s no other way you should begin your birthday. Next we headed to BSB and ended our night in Thekla, along the way drinking so much that I’m surprised I didn’t fall head over heels and end up in A&E – especially considering how high my heels were.
I definitely paid for my incredible night the following morning on my actual birthday when after only 4 hours sleep, I woke up feeling bloody awful. My sister came to visit, bringing my gift with her and I spent the afternoon curled up in bed with my boyfriend eating McDonald’s cheese bites and having the occasional nap.
The evening was spent at my work’s Christmas do having a meal in Cosy Club and was the perfect way to round off an incredible weekend. I’m lucky enough to work with some of my absolute best friends so to spend the evening with them made me happier than I can explain. We enjoyed a 3 course meal (including a candle decorated desert for me) and laughed until our tummies hurt.
The whole weekend has been incredibly overwhelming but so perfect. Sitting and reflecting on everything, so much has changed in a year and looking back 12 months ago, I never ever thought that I’d be sat here tearing up for nothing but positive reasons. The past 4 birthdays have been shit to say the least and this year, it couldn’t have been more incredible. After removing all of the toxic people from my life over the last year, I’m now surrounded by nothing but good people who make me unbelievably happy every single day.
That about sums up my birthday weekend so thank you if you were a part of what has been an incredible couple of days and also a huge thank you if you wished me a happy birthday too!
