Happy Sunday guys!
It’s been a little while since I posted any reviews on the brand Phase Zero but I’m super excited to be sharing my first impressions and thoughts on their new liquid lipsticks that have just launched.
It’s no secret or surprise that I love a liquid lipstick. Easily my favourite lip product on the market, it’s the item that I easily seem to have the most of within my collection and wear most regularly. Personally I love anything that’s easy to apply, has a good pigmentation and stays on well so of course, a liquid lippy is the one for me. When I heard that Phase Zero had launched this range of lipsticks I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them. I tried their previous range and although I loved them, I wish there had been more shades which thankfully, their new collection delivers.
What are the shades like?
Available in 5 shades; Wine N Dine, Undercover, Blow, Bad Habit and Hot Sauce, this range brings you every type of shade and tone you could hope for whether you’re looking for a daytime lip or something more adventurous for the evening.
What about the formula?
I was so pleasantly surprised with the pigmentation of these lipsticks as although I love Phase Zero products, more ‘affordable’ lip products tend to either be really good or really bad and it’s often difficult to tell beforehand. These didn’t let me down in the slightest and with one swipe of colour, an opaque coverage was achieved with every shade.
The formula itself is comfortable, dries quickly and wears well. The only thing I would note is that they’re not ideal when layered. By this I mean that if the lipstick begins wearing off (as normal this will happen after eating or drinking something hot), rather than applying another layer on top, it’s best to remove the initial layer and re-apply. I think this is simply due to it having quite a thick formula and therefore layering can cause the product to bunch up on the lips slightly which isn’t comfortable or the best look. I always tend to carry a packet of wet wipes in my bag anyway so removing it wasn’t an issue when out and about but is something I’d definitely recommend.
How does the packaging look?
The packaging is simple, minimalistic and looks more expensive than what it is. With clear tubes it’s easy to not only see the shade inside but also makes it clear how much product you have left inside. I hate it when the outside tube is the same colour as the product inside and it ends up running out without you even realising it was close to doing so. The applicator is perfect for a quick and easy swipe of colour too.
Summed up, I really like these liquid lipsticks and surprisingly, a lot more than I thought I would! The shades are lovely, the formula is highly pigmented and wears well and the packaging is pleasing to the eye too. I’d definitely recommend them if you’re on the hunt for an affordable, vegan and cruelty-free liquid lipstick.
Thank you so much for reading! As always, any questions or comments please leave them below and I’ll respond ASAP.
