Hey guys! Hope everything is well with all of you and that you’re having a lovely Sunday so far.
I was lucky enough to receive a box of Rimmel products from the fabulous company Influenster who work to connect brands and influencers together by sending complimentary products over for us to try and review on our blog. I’ve received one other box in the past which was full of Max Factor goodies and you can find my full review here if you wanted to have a read. I was also invited to visit my local Marc Jacobs counter for a make-over and deluxe mascara sample (new fave mascara!) by Influenster which was absolutely lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed it so I’m super excited to be working with them again for this campaign.
Rimmel are a brand that I haven’t personally tried too much from in the past so I was looking forward to giving their new launches a go and giving my honest opinion on the products for you guys on here so I hope you enjoy this little review.
Lip Top Coats – £5.49 each
It’s no surprise to me that Rimmel have just launched 3 shades of beautiful lip toppers as throughout the end of 2017, lip toppers definitely became a massive new thing within the beauty industry with so many brands launching them to compete against one another. I’ve personally never tried a lip topper in the past as I’m a ‘get ready and go’ kinda gal with the presumption that most lip toppers don’t really do too much and therefore aren’t worth the extra 30 seconds of my time to apply them.
These lip art beauties however, did surprise me and I’ve taken a liking to them more than I thought I would. I was kindly gifted all 3 shades – Pearlescent (a white with a pink and blue shift), Gold (clue in the name – a true to form, yellow gold) and Blush Gold (a champagne gold, super sparkly shade.) My personal favourite is Blush Gold as it has an almost rose gold finish to it and anything rose gold instantly wins my heart.
The formula is easy to apply, glides onto the lips effortlessly and gives a beautiful shine too whilst adding an extra something to any make-up look. The one slightly negative (to some people anyway) thing that I would say is that they are pretty sticky so if you’re against a sticky lip gloss these may not be for you but definitely pop to your local Rimmel stand to have a look before deciding.
Wonder’fully Real Mascara – £7.99
I’ve always wondered what Rimmel mascaras are like as I personally find that a lot of highstreet brands (such as L’Oreal, Max Factor, Maybelline etc) make fab mascaras so I was super excited to find Rimmel’s latest mascara within my VoxBox.
The Wonder’fully Real Mascara contains nylon fibres and promises length and volume with the use of their tapered and easy to control brush.
At first glance, this wand isn’t anything like I’ve used before so I was instantly pretty sceptical. It’s very clearly tapered as promised, has evenly separated plastic bristles (I prefer this to natural bristles) and distributes just the right amount of product onto the wand ready to use.
This mascara applies so effortlessly and gives impact instantly. When they said it gave ‘stunning length’ they weren’t lying – my lashes are massive! As somebody who is so unbelievably picky when it comes to mascaras, I didn’t think I’d like this and although I’m not head over heels obsessed and in love with it, it definitely does do the job as promised!
Ink Me Liners – £5.29 Each
For somebody who isn’t an eyeliner wearer, I got surprisingly excited when I saw a gold liquid liner within my box of products and instantly started swatching it on the back of my hand.
I was generously sent their new Ink Me liquid liners for the eyes and body in both the black and gold shades and not only do I love the colours (the pigmentation is fab!) but I also love the formula of them too.
The applicators are quite long but very thin so it’s super easy to get a sharp and precise line. They also have a very flexible tip due to being made of foam and this also makes for easy application.
Glitter Nail Varnish in ‘Ruby Crush’ – £3.99
I used to paint my nails all the time but about 3 months ago I started going to a salon every 6 weeks and having shellac gel nails instead. Since then, I haven’t painted my nails once. Therefore, I had my mum test out this product for us instead.
She painted her nails using a Nails Inc polish and then applied this glitter varnish over the top. It looked absolutely stunning! Sadly she wouldn’t let me take a photo as she doesn’t like her hands (didn’t even realise this was a thing?!) but the varnish looked lovely. Super sparkly, intense after about 2-3 coats and acted as the perfect top coat with no chips for at least 7 days.
So, that sums up my review for the Rimmel VoxBox that I received from Influenster! Again, a massive thank you to Influenster for sending this over for me to try and review. Thank you also to those of you that have read this post – I hope you’ve enjoyed it!
