BLOGMAS DAY 5 – Top Picks: Red Lipsticks

When I think of Christmas makeup the first thing that pops into my head is a bright red lip. It’s a staple in any festive makeup look and glams up the most natural of faces in an instant.

There’s no better time of year than now to write a blog post all about my favourite red lippies and although I don’t have loads of them within my collection, sorting through them has made me realise I need to wear a red lip more often because I don’t wear it enough to justify how many I do have.

Smashbox Always-On Liquid Lipstick – Bawse

Smashbox liquid lipsticks are one of my favourite formulas on the market and I’m absolutely obsessed with the shade range! I so far have 11 out of 20 in my collection and know for sure that I want more. However, I’m waiting as a little birdie tells me that next Spring, there will be a whole load more of shades hitting the Smashbox shelves and they’re looking like they’re going to be jaw dropping.

Bawse was the first shade that I purchased as in my eyes, it’s the ‘perfect red’ and I knew from the second that I saw it, that I needed it in my collection. Along with one of the nude shades, it’s one of my most used shades in my Smashbox liquid lip collection and I know that I’ll definitely be replacing it when it runs out.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani – 714

I only own three shades of Urban Decay lipsticks but definitely aim to get more in the new year as I love the formula and shade range that they have! The packaging is also so sleek and shiny, it instantly catches my eye.

This particular lipstick, I picked up as part of the Gwen Stefani collection but I’m pretty certain that this shade is available in their normal Vice lipstick range too.

Mac Ruby Woo

This lipstick has only just managed to make it onto the favourite lipstick list and personally, I don’t really like the formula of this lipstick but I LOVE the colour!

I personally find MAC Retro Matte lipsticks really drying on my lips and I often have to remove them after an hour or so because they’re painfully dehydrating. It’s a shame because this colour is stunning and if I liked the formula more, I’d definitely wear it more frequently!

Loreal Eva’s Red

I was actually really surprised that I fell in love with Loreal lipsticks! I guess it’s because I’ve always associated Loreal with mascaras and recently brow products so lip products haven’t been something I’ve experimented with from them. However, I’ve recently discovered just how outstanding their lipsticks are and I’ve bought a few – one being this beauty of a red!

That’s it for my favourite reds! I’ve definitely got to make a commitment from now on to wear more red lipsticks because these just aren’t loved enough.

Thank you so much for reading! Let me know in the comments section what your favourite red lipsticks are at the moment as I’d love to check them out.

Until next time,

Georgia x
