The Big Question – Why Did I Start Blogging?

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had a few people ask me why I decided to start blogging and as I said in one of my previous posts, I wanted to start writing more lifestyle themed blogs so I thought that I would answer this big question with it’s own special post.

So, why did I start blogging?

Well, it’s something that I considered for quite a while as I’ve always liked writing, sharing my thoughts (basically I have a big mouth and talk a lot!) and the blogging world was blowing up so I wanted to be a part of this. I started a really small ‘blog’ on blogspot about 3 years ago and didn’t dedicate any time or love to it because at that point in time, I wasn’t as dedicated as you need to be if you want to be a blogger. I literally posted probably once every 4-6 months so wouldn’t even call it a blog really and I gave up on the whole idea completely as I wasn’t committing to it enough.

In November 2015, something completely life-changing and very hard to deal with happened to me. All of a sudden, I had all of this stuff to deal with and come to terms with at the age of just 19 that things became pretty tough. My mind was moving at the speed of light and I had so much to think about that writing it down seemed the best way to deal with things. This was when I decided to put as much effort as I could into my blog and Instagram account – not only to get my thoughts out but to also give me a focus point too.

Blogging is a great way to just get things off your chest. Even if it’s just reviewing a product, explaining an experience or answering questions (like this one!) it takes things out of your mind and gives you space to breathe. There’s only so much your brain can hold and I honestly think that writing things down is the best way to clear up a bit of room.

Not just that, but for me personally, blogging gives me something to focus on, put my all into and be proud of. When something big happens within your life that leaves such a negative impact, it’s important to care of yourself and do things that make you happy and make you proud. Blogging does exactly that for me. I feel so proud of myself when I post something new and see the engagement on my blog and Instagram and although there are so many people out there that won’t understand that, I know a lot of people will. Although being a blogger is time consuming and takes a lot of effort, the hour that you spend every couple of days to sit down and write new content can be the most relaxing hour within your whole day. It helps me to unwind, switch off from the outside world and share what I love the most.

I aim to continue making myself proud every day by creating more blog posts, inspiring more people to start a blog, helping to answer peoples questions regarding beauty products and building myself up to be a better blogger and make up artist in the meantime. I’m somebody who loves a challenge and I work best when I’m working to improve things so that is exactly what I’m aiming to do with this little beauty platform.

If you’ve been considering starting a blog, do it! I’m so glad I did because watching it grow each day makes me so happy and the same will happen to you too. If you decide to, let me know in the comments section because I would love to have a read of yours too.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you’ve enjoyed this slightly different blog post.

Until next time,
